Listen to "If I Were a Bird"
If I Were a Bird
To watch a bird
Lift out of a tree
Gently flapping its wings
Seem to set them free
If I were a bird
I would not have to run
To fly instead
Would be so much fun
If I were a bird
I would soar through the air
Feeling so free
With wind in my hair
I would splash in a puddle
After a rain
To splash in a bath tub
Would never be the same
I would build a nest
High up in a tree
I would hide it real good
So predators
Would not find me
I could see the activity
On the ground
Most people would not know
That I was around
A bird is unique
Yet they are everywhere
The world seems better
Because they are here
